Almost time to sail.....counting down the hours!!!

Hi all!! Well, we've made it to Cape Canaveral.....as of 2:00 today and we are at the hotel right near Port Canaveral where tomorrow a.m. we will get on the shuttle at 10:30 to head over to the big mickey mouse boat. (the port is maybe one minute away from here).....We have had a good trip so far....stayed in Tallahassee last night--the girls enjoyed swimming. Before we made it to Tallahassee we stopped in Mobile, AL and visited the USS Alabama Battleship. I hadn't been on that ship since I was a youngster myself. The girls enjoyed it a lot. The hotel we are at tonight has a "kids area" in the room---a sectioned off part of the room with a bunk bed and a twin bed and a little t.v with a dvd player---the girls just love it. Then there is a table and microwave and fridge and then of course a bed for steven and myself to share (or he said he could have the whole bed to himself if I want to sleep in the "girls' room" (he's so funny isn't he????? ) The girls think the hotel room is just the best ever. I told them just wait until you get on the cruise ship. They are some kind of wound up right now.
I hope the swim they just took (I joined them and got in the hot tub too) will make them sleepy sleepy. Em did just drink a cup of coffee though....she thought she had to have one when I drank some in the room.....but caffeine usually doesn't phase that child. Todd, Candace, Connor and Zane (my brother and his family) made it to DisneyWorld today (according to my mom) and they will be there while we are cruising. So the Suttons and the Bennetts will be totally Mickey Moused out by next Sunday. :)
Well, I had better get up to the room. I'm in the "business room" at the hotel and I am being "courteous" and only staying 15 minutes like they asked. Just wanted to blog a little since I know I won't on the ship....number one....it will probably cost money.....number 2....i'll be too busy having loads of fun to stop.
Thanks for the well wishes on our trip---------it's going to be a fun fun fun one!!!!

American Idol

Well, the David I wanted to win did win....go David Cook!!!!!

E, Em and I all wanted him to be the winner---of course we didn't vote because we just never do but we were glad he won. Now just what are we going to do now that Idol is over and Dancing with the Stars is over........(I wanted the football player to win Dancing)

This afternoon we celebrated with my friend Gail who is retiring after 25 years of teaching.

I am so happy for her......but we will sure miss her around campus. She is a wonderful teacher but better yet a GREAT friend. Congrats Gail!!! I love ya! (and I'm jealous!)

The countdown is on.........(sorry sue)........Orlando here we come......soon.......!!!

Also, I am going to post a picture that has nothing at all to do with this post....imagine that.

Just posting one to be posting one. Let me pick one now.

Awards, Last Day of School, and a Dill Pickle

E and Em had their Awards program at school on Monday. Em (grade 1) received the A-B Honor Roll for the whole year Certificate and a Medal to go around her neck---which she says she is wearing on the cruise as well. E. received two 4-H certificates and Most Improved in Math Award from her fav teacher Ms. Steed. We were quite proud of them both. It's hard to believe that my little ones will be in 5th grade and 2nd grade next school year. I don't know how they get older and I don't.

Today is Em's last day of school (E's was yesterday)---actually Em is supposed to go a half day tomorrow but we are "skipping." Em wanted to go today because it is "movie day" and they could bring 2 beach towels or a big blanket (she opted for the blanket---High school musical one) and lay on that in the cafeteria while eating popcorn, drinking a coke and eating a giant dill pickle (hence the last part of the title of this post). She was most fired up about the pickle. If only everyone could be so easily fired up........! Anyway, E. and I are home doing laundry in preparation for our upcoming "holiday"---see I say the vacation Sue.

E wants to use the computer so I guess I'll go for now. (and I'll be doing laundry solo i suppose)

Just some pics (because Em wants me to put some on the blog)

These are just various pics of the girls.....on our first cruise....2 summers ago.....

hopefully when we get back from our disney cruise we will know how to download pics onto our computer and I can post new cruise pics. Enjoy these "oldies"

First Dance Recital

This afternoon E and Em performed in their first ever dance recital. They both did a great job and we were very proud of them. Em danced a ballet number and a tap number. E did a jazz number. The theme of the evening was Beauty and the Beast. The costumes were beautiful. I would love to be able to show everyone how pretty both girls looked but since we have a new camera, we (or I) have yet to be able to figure out exactly how to download the pictures (imagine that!). So eventually you will see how gorgeous the girls were in their dancing attire.
The entire recital lasted 3 and a half hours. Dad was a trooper and hung with us! Maw Maw and Paw Paw came also to see their sweeties. Dad gave his gals some beautiful flowers for dancing so well and they couldn't wait to get home and put them in vases. I'd also like to show you pics of those, but can't do that yet. One day, one day.

On another happy note, E. has two days left of school and Em has 4 days (but she might only go 2 more since her Sissy is going just two----her teacher said it would be fine). Tomorrow is awards day. :) Friday we leave for Orlando.....and Sunday, just a week from today, we get on the Disney cruise ship, the Wonder, to set sail for the private Disney Island and for the Bahamas---we'll be on a 5 day cruise!!!!!!!! We cannot wait!!!! We've heard nothing but great things about the Disney cruises. We've been on a carnival cruise and loved it so we know we love cruising and we love disney characters so this has to be THE BEST!!! After the cruise we will stay in Orlando a day or so and catch Universal Studios and or SeaWorld. (we are saving DisneyWorld for another trip) We'll say hi to Mickey and Cinderella for you!

Well, let me run for now. Need to get my little ballerina and jazz girl ready for bed. They are both tired ones. I am too come to think of it.
I might post a few pictures that are old just to post some pictures because Em says i need to post pictures. She likes to look at herself---(she is a child that is not in any way in short supply in the confidence department). :)

Have a good week everyone....I hope to post at least once before we leave on vacation.

I love my girls!!!!

I had a wonderful Mother's Day today!!! E. made me coffee this a.m. It was so good....and smelled great too! Both E. and Em had made me some cute things at school----and some precious cards that I love. In fact I love that on Em 's special card she had questions she had to complete about her mom and one was "my mom weighs ______ pounds " and my sweet gal put 70 pounds. Gotta love that girl!!!! E. made me a picture frame out of wooden popsicle sticks.

Em gave me a special plant she grew at school (sweet basil she says it is). Em decorated a pretty lunch bag for me with pictures of us and hearts all over it and "happy mother's day" and "I love you, mom" written on it. Her teacher also took a picture of each of them and then let them glue it on the O in MOM which was written in big block letters on construction paper for the kids and they colored the letters and the teacher laminated it for the moms. (Way to go Ms. H.---you rock!)---oh and she put magnets on the back of it too. :) I also got a new workout outfit that looks really nice. (I've decided to start exercising a lot more now at the healthclub---this is in addition to doing yoga). For lunch we went to a restuarant called Zea.---it had such good food---it was the first time we had been there and all 4 of us LOVED everything we got. And the service was wonderful and the atmosphere was terrific. And before we left, our waiter gave me a 10 gift card for Mother's Day. How nice was that!! We'll be back!

Then we went to see the High School Musical Ice Show-----and it was FANTASTIC. Even dad liked it. The girls were grinning the whole time. They didn't want me to sing along and didn't want me to clap to the beat too much--- I told them I wouldn't sing but I had to be able to clap since it was MY day! The performers were excellent. I am a huge HSM fan as are the girls. It was just the best afternoon. I enjoyed it immensely. :) Seeing the girls so happy makes me so happy. This was just the perfect day for me. Of course tonight I've had to do laundry so the girls would have uniforms for school tomorrow, but it all has to end sometime doesn't it. And that's what moms do!!! I am truly blessed with 2 beautiful, adorable (Em hates when I use that word) and a teeny weeny bit spoiled ---okay, spoiled rotten girls. I love them both more and more every singe day of our lives.

Happy Mother's Day to my mom, my Maw Maw Arelee and to all the other "moms" in my life!!!!

I love you all.

Well, I tried......I'll keep practicing....

Well at least I got some pictures on my blog....I'm happy about that....I am just not sure how to put captions under them (you see. I am used to writing captions on the back of my photographs-(I know susan will appreciate that comment and understand it fully). Also I have to play around with the whole positioning of them that's for sure.

The pix are from last year's summer vacation (as opposed to our spring, fall and winter vacations--ha--just a joke) to the Smokey Mountains. Dad was with us gals of course--somebody had to take the pictures!!! I'll put some more recent photos on soon.

I'm liking this blogging thing already!

Second post and TRYING to post pix---

Don't worry---I am not going to title the next post "third post" and so on and so on.....

I WILL get more creative. Hey, I figured out how to add a photo to my profile so I'm fired up about that. Thanks Sue for your help earlier. The reason for this post is simply for me to try and post some pix...just random ones really.....just to see if I can do it...

so........I'm about to try it......here I go to try it.........just give me some time......

My first post on my first blog!

Ok--not sure exactly what I'm doing....but I'm going to try this blog thing. I love reading everyone's so I'm going for it. No pictures today---who knows when I might be able to put those on. I'm just happy I've gotten this far. E. helped me pick out the template and helped come up with our name "Sutton Stuff"----

Em is in the office right now wanting me to get off the computer and make her some noodles.
I said, "give me 5." She replies back "2"---like it was a bidding war or something. I just ignored her and she went away. She'll get her noodles eventually. It's Friday afternoon....there's no schedule for eating on Friday afternoons---doesn't she know that already?? She has her friend Hannah coming over in just a little while anyway and they will consume plenty of junk food. Hannah will be sleeping over tonight. I'm sure they will stay up late. Notice I said "they"----doesn't mean I will.

I think I'll just stop typing right now and try and send this to be posted somewhere and see what happens. Susan, you may be the only one who even sees this after I tell you to look.
So please leave me a comment okay?

Have a great weekend!!!!!
